Hi, I am Hannah!
You’ll find me at the Massey Clinic in West Auckland. I am a registered osteopath and I can be now found at Top Notch Bodyworks and have experience in osteopathy, back, neck, and shoulder pain, headaches and jaw issues, and acute ankle and knee injuries.
Part of what I love about my job is meeting and talking to people one-on-one. I will really listen to what has brought you to the clinic and work with you to create a plan that works for you. This includes discussing with you what I think might be happening and possible things that are leading to your issue, hands-on treatment which is what we are very well known for, and on-going management that is applicable to you. This could include a few movements and stretches to get you sorted, collaboration with other health professionals, or something we both need to manage long term.
As we will be working with how you are going in each session . However, my treatment will likely include direct treatment to the area of concern to relieve pain and discomfort and improve mobility. It will also likely include treatment of connected areas that may be contributing to your issue. Sometimes these connections may not be immediately obvious, however, I always have a rationale for my treatment and will explain to you how/what I would like to treat and why.
I am particularly interested in the impact stress has on our physical health and chose to focus my Masters research on how to help people manage their stress. If you feel that stress is impacting your physical health or injury, or even if you are purely looking for help in reducing your stress, I am happy to to tailor our treatment to bolster your nervous system, and provide you with some helpful and research-driven stress reduction techniques, or at the very least, an empathetic ear.
I have a background in contemporary dance and yoga so I understand what is physically required to participate in these activities and can work with you to achieve your goals in these areas. However, regardless of who you are, I look forward to working with you to facilitate movement that makes you feel good, that is most suited to who you are as a person, and that allows you to achieve whatever is most important to you. I am also passionate about providing respectful and high quality primary health-care to the LGBTQIA+ community.
