Nathalie Dussart

Registered Osteopath Massey

Nathalie specialises in headaches, jaw issues and long-standing complex musculoskeletal cases

Hi, I’m Nathalie.

I take a similar individualistic approach to assessment and treatment as the rest of the Top Notch team – listening to your story, and exploring all the aspects of life that could form part of the problem. This can occasionally lead appointments in unforeseen directions, but almost always uncovers essential clues!

My particular clinic interests focus on

  • Headaches (I hate having them, and will relentlessly try and make yours go away!)
  • Jaw pain
  • “Odd” knee issues and,
  • Longstanding stubborn problems.

I am also passionate about providing sorely needed high quality primary healthcare to the rainbow community. As an openly transgender practitioner within the LGBTQI+ community, I am only too aware of how hard it can be to access good quality, respectful, open healthcare, especially when one needs it the most. Within your treatment sessions, I will do my best to help you through clear and open communication to make you feel as comfortable as possible.

I graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in 2006, and have since worked in several practices in both England and New Zealand, helping a very wide variety of people with all sorts of complaints – from simple muscle strains to complex, chronic issues.

My life has also included living in several other countries – this encounter with various peoples and cultures helps me connect more easily with anyone who walks in. I am fluent in French. My own involvement in competitive sport (swimming during my youth, and archery as an adult) helps me when sport, of any kind, is part of the picture!

In addition to my work in private practice, I am heavily involved in teaching postgraduate osteopathic students. I started off with tutoring the Masters degree students in the student clinic, then moved on to lecturing and developing, implementing and coordinating the clinical assessments. I also work with the Osteopathic Council as a preceptor – to help mentor and supervise overseas osteopaths during their first year of practice in New Zealand; and I am also involved in other regulatory and disciplinary work with the Council.

In my personal time, I love spending time with our two giant Leonberger dogs, our small black cat, and sharpening my skills in the kitchen.
